My Birthday Present- A Stairunner! Yippee!!

So, here's the deal.  We hate going upstairs.  Why?  Well, first of all there is a lot of them (lazy huh?).  17 to be exact.  This is what happens when the lowest part of the your main floor ceiling is 12 feet tall and you have 9 foot doorways.  Second, we have hardwoods in every room of our home except the bonus room upstairs (by design for babies and little ones to play etc) and they are exactly that, hard.  The stairs hurt this preggo's feet....and guess where the new nursery is?  Yup, upstairs.  And guess who is having a c- section (had one last time so I'm a repeat)?  Yup, this girl.

Pretty hardwood stairs that make me feel like I have bruises on my heels...boo

So, I got a stair runner for my birthday.  Nothing says you are old, like a stair runner for your birthday.  That's how I roll now.  Old, and lovin' cushy surfaces on my feet.  Uh huh.

Here is the good news:  I picked out a pretty ivory stainmaster carpet with a great replacement warranty and cool design, and they installed it in the center of the steps.

Bad news:  The installers centered it on the step.  The whole step.  Not the visual space between the railings and the wall. They are coming out this week to fix their mistake.  Woh woh.

But maaaaaaaaan, they sure are cushy and comfortable.  Me likey.

  1. I can totally relate. We kept carpet on our front steps (out edge hardwood) when we added hardwoods upstairs, and our front two rooms downstairs are carpet (don't get a lot of use). I have to say, I'd never really thought about it, but I've had heel pain over the course of the past year since we have more hardwoods, and I go barefoot most of the time. Don't like shoes in the house! Hmmm...might need some cushy slippers! LOL Glad they are willing to come fix their mistake.

  4. I thought they looked a bit wonky! Sounds like something that would happen to us. We are about to install a runner on our stairs, seagrass....just for looks.
