The Nursery Planning Has Begun!

Guess who started on the new nursery?  

THIS GIRL!

This nursery is going to have a vintage sweet feel. 

VERY different from K's Nursery, though I loved it too!

I had this vintage nursery lamp from Nursery Plastics, rewired and fitted with a dimmer switch and a new shade.

I AM IN LOVE WITH IT!

I also bought this sweet vintage rattle for a little project I have planned for this sweet baby's nursery.

Wingback Dining Chairs- The Mate Arrived!!

The other wingback chair from One Kings Lane showed up!

Yippee!

I think they work well and I'm happy!

(though you know how things go with me, something always gets changed or moved around....lol)

For instance, I saw this last pic and didn't like how there were 2 seating areas near the foyer, the settee and the church pew, so the settee was moved....and a big skirted table replaced it. Well see....

Dining Chair Switch Up- Wingback Dining Chairs

I made my first purchase on One Kings Lane this past week!

If you have read my blog over any period of time, you know that I am a big fan of mixed seating at the dining and breakfast room table.  

My dining room seating currently looks like this.

but then I saw these chairs on One Kings Lane

and fell in love with them.  

I bought 2 for the head chairs at the dining table.  

Well, ONE arrived today!  Yippee!  Where is the other one you ask?  Um, I hope on tomorrow's truck?! (eek!)  

They are beautifully slip covered and have the best lines!  I also think they go really well with my current bench.  We call it the 'French Bench.'  And by we, I mean me.  Not to mention, since I bought them one One Kings Lane, I got a great deal!  Double win!

I'll show you the whole table if when the other one arrives!

Fun In The Sun In Gulf Shores, AL

We just returned from the beach!  

Last trip this year, sniff sniff....

(and probably last one as a family of 3)

mmmm....I can see why Lulu's is famous in Gulf Shores!

K loved Lulu's too!

not a bad view for the trip, thanks to my sweet parents for asking us to join them for our last fun in the sun!

K played some tennis with Pop Pop!

She even had on her little white tennis skirt that Mimi bought her, so cute!

No trip to the beach is complete without coconut shrimp!

She LOVED swimming in the pools and making PopPop throw her "HIGH in the sky" 

K keeps saying "let's go back to da beach!"

I wish we could too!!!!

Fall Front Door Decor

Oh, how I LOVE fall!

I'm pregnant and tired so my sweet mom came over and planted these pretty mums in my big planters.  
THANKS MOM!!!! 

St. John drug the scarecrow and the plastic pumpkins out of the walk in storage in our home.  

(side note- the back of the scarecrow freaks me the heck out every stinking time I walk past the front door when inside the house)  Guess the jokes on me.  Ha!

I, well, all I did was snap a few pics. 
Keepin' it simple this year.  
Oh, and the white pumpkin blew away.
Bummer.

Cinderella's Royal Table Dinner

One of my favs from our Disneyworld trip...

K talks about 'the princesses' every. day.  The first thing she said when she woke up the day after we returned was, "we go to the CASTLE today?"  We had SUCH a great trip.

My Friend Alison's Gorgeous Vintage Baby Shower

My sweet friend Alison is having a baby boy in December!
One of her dear friends put together a shower for Alison, and unfortunately I missed it because I was at Disney.  

Here are a few pics of the shower decor, because I thought it was SO sweet and beautiful.   It had a beautiful vintage feel, and was simple and sweet.  

Her friend Jenny, who put this gorgeous shower together, ALSO made this beautiful cake.  Such talent!

The baby shoes!  I am in love!

Did I mention that the shower hostess, Jenny, also bought this antique dresser, painted and distressed it, and gave it to Alison as her shower gift for the new baby's changing table?

I can't take it.  

We should all BE a friend like Jenny!

Also, I thought Alison's maternity shoot went beautifully as well and she gave me her permission to share...

Remember when I bought these cool frames from HomeGoods?  

Yeah, too bad it took me 3 months to actually get 11x13 prints made to put inside of them.  

These are the back halls that lead to the master bedroom.  I love that they are filled with fun pics of the little one that makes our life so blessed!

Kitchen Remodel Part 1- Better Pics Of The Painted Kitchen Cabinets

Did you miss my post yesterday?

Here is the start of the kitchen make over journey!!

The cabinets were finally dry enough for me to close them to give you guys a better look! 

I'm SO pleased!!

Thank you Doug from Schreiner Painting Contractors of TN for the GORGEOUS job you did on the cabinets!!

Here are the two samples that our fabricator dropped off for us to see the honed kashmir white granite.  It has a smooth raw feel, very soft and similar to the feel of marble.  I am IN LOVE with it!  It really tones down and mutes the colors, which helps reduce the brightness of the garnet pieces in the granite.  VERY beautiful!!  We are SUPER excited!!

Kitchen Remodel Part 1- Refacing Of The Cabinets!

Guess what got started while we were at

 Walt Disney World?

The Kitchen Makeover!!   

Some of the doors and drawers had to stay open all night for drying purposes.  The kitchen already looks bigger and brighter (even though this is a 10pm last night when we stumbled in from the airport....note tired 2 year old checking it all out).

ps- try to overlook the STUFF EVERYWHERE.  Keepin' it real.  

Did you notice the lone ranger cherry door?  He is going to be removed and the carpenter will be installing the wine fridge here.  

Didn't Doug from Schreiner Painting Contractors of Tennessee do an amazing job?  He is so professional and AWESOME to work with!  He did this in TWO days!!!  I'm amazed!!

The cabinet color is Fieldstone by Benjamin Moore.

Now I need to pick out pulls and knobs for the cabinetry in a shiney chrome.  Any ideas out there???

Next up:  Carpenter to install farm sink, wine fridge and knock down the useless 2 bar top.  YAY!!!
