My entire home has hard wood, so we have a LOT of rugs. But you know where I cheaped out? I didn't buy rug pads. I didn't really know the difference....until I went to my next door neighbors house last week (I am working on his living room design). His rugs felt so much more plush than my rugs! At first I just thought his rugs were nicer, and then he showed me his thick no slip rug pads underneath. Huh. Probably shoulda paid attention to rug pads.
So, I bought some on amazon. My rugs feel AMAZING! They weren't even expensive. I bought them for every room.
This is the brand I bought and I am SO HAPPY!!!
On another note, since we had to move the living room furniture to put the rug pad down, I moved around the chairs for kicks.
My living room normally looks like this.
But I moved the chairs......
Do we like this arrangement or no?
I like it this way!
ReplyDeleteI think it is too much pattern on one side and not enough on the other. But if you switched the chairs around it might be too much white on one side. hmm...
ReplyDeleteI agree with Amy. The stripes are competing with your beautiful sideboard, but if you moved the white chairs there it would look off balance.
ReplyDeleteI love the new arrangement. Somehow it feels cozier to me and more inviting!!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice, but I love the way you had it before.
ReplyDeleteLooks great. Love your style!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you had it before. I like that the coffee table before didnt line up with the console and it looked cozier.
ReplyDeleteI think it kooed better before

ReplyDeletewell.... I love it! I think it looks more relaxed and comfortable and less like a waiting room where the chairs are always lined up like soldiers. Have a little fun with it and when you grow tired of it... well move it back the other way, because, that was wonderful too! You have beautiful things!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip on the rug pads! It would make all the difference in the world if I had one in my living room, and it never even dawned on me! This is great info--thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI like the arrangement. Very conversational!
