I took out all of the turquoise and then added back in the lamps and the garden stools.
I also added in a few neutral accessories.
I also added in a cpl of ivory vases to the mantle to add some height
Then I did a pillow switch around....
I put the chaing mai pillows back on the striped chairs.
I found an orange tray and a an orange foo dog upstairs in the closet that I thought might bring out the orange in the chaing mai pillows (per your suggestions!!!)
(I have a few closets that are like stores, don't judge)
Here is a close up of the new orange additions....
thoughts?
Which look do you like better?
Any more suggestions for the living room???
THANK YOU GUYS!!!!
Love the orange accents with the turquoise! And don't worry, I have piles of things that I've kept for 'someday when I need them' haha

You're living room is so pretty!!! It makes me want to go fight the rain and do a little home shopping to finish decorating mine!
ReplyDeleteSO much better! The only thing I don't like is the repetition of the 2 vases on the mantel and the 2 lamps on the sideboard. It is the first thing I noticed in the first photo. Maybe only have the lamps and just one vase on the mantel? You have lots of "pairs"in the room...
ReplyDeleteI've heard that having an odd number of accessories of the same thing is good instead of an even number.
DeleteLove the orange and neutral accents! You still have the pops of turquoise but it's more interesting with the other colors added in. I so need to do the same!!!! I love it! Thanks for the inspiration! And can I also say that I have missed seeing pics of your house?!?!? It's just so beautiful and you have such amazing ideas...I get giddy when I see that you have done a post with pics of your beautiful home!
ReplyDeleteoh, I like it. I really love the Chiang Mai switch up to the striped chairs. Such a pretty layout you have.
ReplyDeleteYour room is stunning; the turquoise is such a beautiful pop of color! I really liked your furniture placement, it's very cozy.
ReplyDeleteI love the new look today!
ReplyDeleteI love the pops of turquoise, but pulling in the orange is so fun too! The pillows are gorgeous on those striped chairs. Your house is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! You have such wonderful taste! Where did you get that small ottoman just before you walk into your hallway? Its below two prints with a stripe pillow on it? You can barely see it in your pic, but I need one for my tiny hallway about that size!! Let me know please!!

Much better!! Although, I'd love to have the before look too!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks clean and fresh and the orange really makes it less turquoise-y. Looks great!
I think it look fantastic! I love it.
ReplyDeleteLove the white sideboard. Where did you find it?
ReplyDeleteHome Decorators Collection!
DeleteI love it all! Random question- I have been considering going to a four chair set up versus a sofa and two chairs. Is that your TV back there? Can everyone view the screen from their seat or does it matter?!
ReplyDeleteto be honest with you, we never watch this television so I am not a great judge =( K watches her dvds on this tv when she is having snack in her highchair
DeleteThanks! Love your home and blog. Thanks for sharing!
DeleteWhere did you put your couch? Everything looks great. I like the turquoise and orange.
ReplyDeleteIn our family room which has not been photographed =)
DeleteI love it! where did you get the white tray on the coffee table? I am looking for a tray like that. Please share
ReplyDeleteI love that side cabinet. That pattern just pulls the room together! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous...as always! Love the pops of color and the new changes! Does baby K not play with the stuff on your coffee table? My son destroys anything on ours. LOL
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!!!!
ReplyDeleteMuch better! Love the switch and pop of orange!
ReplyDeleteIt looks Amazballs! You take direction well!!!;)
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, and you are a FAST redecorator!
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome & I love the white vases on the mantle! Have you tried angling the chairs towards the center on the four corners of the rug? Put the two striped chairs on either side of the buffet (with the armless striped chair closest to the fireplace).

Great switcheroo. Exactly what I was thinking. Love just that hint of the blue.
ReplyDeleteLooks great and not so overwhelming. I would suggest though taking down the flat screen t.v.. So many other creative ways the mantle could draw our eyes to it rather than a t.v.. The focus of your living room is the chairs and side tables and pictures and thus your mantle/fireplace gets lost.
ReplyDeleteperfect!!! I love the focal points of the coffee table & pops of color. The garden dome things are sweet (looking for yellow ones). Turq & orange are fab, I'm trying (yes, its been maybe 5 months) to do a grey & orange bed room. Love it, maybe take the jewelry/decorative box off the mantel, takes focus off the end vases, but who i'm I to say boo? replace w/ small pic w/ simple silver frame of fam b&w pic??
ReplyDeleteIt looks fresh. Love the concept of coordinating pillows. They flow together but I would never think of that!
I so have the "store closets" too, but in re-deco hell, mine have exploded into my office/store. Why it is soo fun but soo frustrating at times too?
love it
Love your living room. I am thinking of buying the reflections mirrored cabinet to use as a tv stand. Would you recommend it? Also, are the shelves inside adjustable? And how distressed is this furniture with regards to paint color chipping off, scrapes, etc? From the website's picture and your blog's picture, it doesn't seem distressed at all. But then I read reviews that state that the customer was very disappointed because the piece was distressed and it just looked like the manufacturer did a poor paint job. Your input would be greatly appreciated as I am nervous to purchase something that I haven't seen in person. Thanks,
