Living Room Switcheroo- HELP!

Am I the only one who moves their furniture and accessories all over the house?  I do it a lot.  Originally, my living room looked like this then this.

Here's what I got goin on now.....

excuse my little munchkin that crashed the pic....

I love my pops of turquiose but its all too much.....I think some editing is in order.....HELP!!!  I just moved all of this around on a whim yesterday so excuse the poor styling.....

Also, I need help with my mantle....thoughts?

Sometimes I feel like I can do other people's homes easily, and when it comes to my own I get stuck!  HELP!!

  1. Hmm... Is it possible to angle everything around the fireplace? Seems like things are a little squashed where they are and ignoring the fireplace? Another idea is to just pull out all of the accesories and add them back in a little at a time and really looking hard at the space as you do it.

  2. I agree with pulling all of the accessories out and then adding them back in one at a time. I also think that adding another color in the mix might help. You have those beautiful Chiang Mai pillows that have a few different colors on them. I would pull out one of those colors use it to mix up the accessories. That way you will have more than just turquoise. I think it always takes awhile to get it just right!!

  3. Oh I would love to see you include the fireplace in the arrangement. I also agree with adding another color with the turquoise and editing just a tad. Gorgeous pieces and stunning room. Hugs, Marty

  4. Seems like the mantle needs a little more height variation....maybe try moving the foo dogs elsewhere and put a couple vases in varied heights on the mantle?

  5. I agree, I'd add another pop of color in addition to the turquoise. Maybe pick up one of the other colors featured in the pillows? Also if you could orient the seating around the fireplace and make that more central, it would probably open up the room some more. I love love love the white sideboard... where did you find that?

  6. I have been looking for turqouise lamps FOREVER! Please tell me where you found them!

  7. I'd replace the lamps and then add something white to the mantle. The mantle as a whole seems too dark compared to the rest of the adjoining spaces. Because the lamps are alongside a wall, it seems like a more neutral base would be more complimentary.

  11. Lol! My mom is an interior designer and she says the same thing! If you wanna "add" another color, try buying a can of spray paint instead of buying new stuff.

  12. It's beautiful, but since you are asking... I would add the reddish coral color from your pillows to the room. And maybe some greenery to the mantle. Like some topiaries. Not the 90's ivy kind, but a new updated kind. And Ikea has great fake succulent plants too. Something like that might work. Have fun!

  14. The mantle needs a re-positioning. I agree with Megan. You need little orientations for the seating around the fireplace and make that more central. xo
