Anyway, my girlfriend told me I need to read this. Have you read it? Is it good? My hubs is taking me back to Mexico for our anniversary and I am looking for books to bring!
My girlfriend said all of her girlfriends LOVE it and that although she is not a reader, she is on page 700 of the second book in a few days! Whaaat? She is a mom of three so that is no easy task!
Here is the trilogy....
Has anyone read all three???
Any other book suggestions for me? I LOVE me an autobiography too if anyone has some suggestions!
I've never read that one, but might give it a try. I've recently read "Eat, Drink and be from Mississippi" and "Girls in White Dresses" and loved both. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI just started the second book... love it! It's very engrossing.... sort of a Twilight for grownups. LOL
ReplyDeleteI have been reading about this series! Did you know that it started out as Twilight fan fiction and the author just changed some names and details for publishing?? Crazy!
ReplyDeleteI just finished the second book and it only took me 2 days. There are obviously similarities between it and Twilight (as it has been stated, it started out as Twilight fan fiction). However, it is a much different story. It is more just the character personalities that are similar and some of the situations the characters find themselves in. I think the interesting part about it is that it delves into a lifestyle that I don't know anything about and I'm not really into. It's easy to be shocked by it and not read the story. Although, there is a deeper story that I find enthralling. There is a part in the second book that I thought I was going to start crying while reading when the two characters are totally vulnerable. You should definitely read it on your trip, but take all three books with you just in case you become addicted and need to finish the story!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of the Twilight similarities (which only makes it more intriguing for me!) -- and I've also heard that it's smutty-smut-smut...so perfect for a mexico trip with hubs! ;)
ReplyDeleteNay. I don't want you to be deceived... it's basically porn for women. I haven't read it but that's what I've heard. (Also I thought the Twilight series was terrible... and the movies... even worse! IMO)
ReplyDeleteI've recently read "Saving Cee Cee Honeycutt" and LOVED it. Also "Sweet Misfortune" is good. I'm reading "Levi's Will" right now and finding it has a really interesting story. I've heard "The Secret Daughter" is really good too.
Have a fun vacation!
I wouldn't consider it porn. I've read romance novels that are much more explicit.
DeleteThe character's personalities and their interaction, and the depth of love, romance and conflict in these books is what is so compelling.
The mild smuttiness of it just makes it a delicious read!
let's just say if you are a prude then don't read "fifty". it is highly sexual. i am reading the books, just started reading the second, and i like them. it would be a great book to take to Mexico. like i told my friend, either have your husband or vibrator close by ;)...right now the books are only available for download. the book is being released next week. if you do end up reading them, i'd get them on your kindle or ipad ;)
ReplyDeleteI am actually reading the 2nd one of these right now and really like them. I actually was not a huge fan of TWILIGHT and not sure where people think these books are similar. I do NOT at all. Yes there are MANY parts that are intense, but just put your big girl panties on and keep reading! There is a lot of "smut" but it also has a very good story line that is so interesting to me and keeps me very interested! Perfect books to take on a trip IMO! Enjoy and let us know if you enjoy them. You look great!
ReplyDeletemy friends refer to it as soft porn - so of course i will be purchasing. I'm in the middle of reading How Starbucks Saved My Life - a true story and so far it's excellent and an easy read.
ReplyDeleteOutlander by Diana Gabaldon is fantastic historical fiction and the city of bones series by Cassandra Clare are great...read two of them on a trip to cancun.
ReplyDeleteI love a good trilogy and have heard these books are great (especailly for a trip with your husband ;). If you liked Hunger Games then you'll probably like the "Maze Runner" trilogy...I'm on my third and LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI was sitting in a meeting today at work and overheard the ladies discussing this book. The exact words that I heard was that this book is "EROTIC". Wow looks like this is winner for vacation reading.
ReplyDeleteI've heard it's quite the scandy book. You'll have to fill me in! I have to say, I loved the autobiography of Oprah Winfrey all though it doesn't show her in the best light. I'll try to see if I still have it and you can take it on your vacation!
ReplyDeletewww.winetasetgirl.com
I've read all 3 and love them...will be reading again...story is great but if you think this isn't porn, yikes!! :D Porn for women, although I've heard the men are liking that their wives are reading them! Yippee lol
ReplyDeleteI just finished all three books. I LOVED them!!! I am re-reading book one now!
ReplyDeleteAfter this post went up, I decided to bite the bullet and buy book one because I had heard several people talk about this book. It is quite possibly the worst written book I have read in a long time (sometimes to the point of distraction, whoever edited this book should be fired, immediately). It is literally one hot sex scene after the next with a bunch of self-indulgent whining in between. However, with that being said, I'm pretty sure I will convince myself to read the rest of the books.
ReplyDeleteOmg, I am reading book one now and I can't put it it down! Haha....leaving for Kauai next week and I will be reading book 2. Very intense, erotic, yes........... But a good story line so far....LOVE...
ReplyDeleteWhere do you buy this? It's not available until April 3 on amazon, B&N, etc...
ReplyDeleteI couldn't get through the first book. I'm not a prune and enjoyed the first part of the book until it got way more intense. It's a lifestyle that I don't understand and have no interest in reading about. I don't get the hype.
