Fabulous Nursery/Baby Shower Idea- Letter Gallery

Thank you to EVERYONE who linked up to the Nursery Linky Party this week (you still can link up if you'd like!)

I came across this image on pinterest and I had to share.  It was pinned from a nursery on projectnursery.com- Emerson's Nursery.

I read on the pin that they had all of the baby shower attendants bring a different letter!  How fun is that?  I think this look is so cool!

Nursery Week! Gorgeous Nursery From Magnolia Lane

Nursery Week at a' la mode!

Beautiful moldings, Restoration Kids bedding and mirrored furniture create a magical space for a little girl.

It is such a privilege to be sharing this beautiful room with you all today here at a’ la mode. Don’t we all enjoy attempting the “magazine cover lifestyle” with Shelli even though real life doesn’t always allow for it? However…in the case of this baby nursery, we think it just might come close!

We have been excited to share this gorgeous nursery for a long time over at 11 Magnolia Lane. Once we girls got a peak at this room, you could barely get us to leave! We think it’s stunning.

The baby girl’s parents worked hard to transform their spare bedroom with custom moldings, beautiful furniture and luxurious but restful seating for their special newborn baby. While it may look professionally decorated, this talented Baby Mama did the design while Dad did all the carpentry work. They recovered and repurposed furniture from other parts of their home to a wonderful use to welcome their new little girl.
The chairs were redone in a beautiful gray/silver silk and the crystal buttons add a little sparkle. The mirrored cabinet came from another room in their home and is filled with coordinating storage baskets to hold all sorts of tiny “baby” things. The bedding and many of the accessories are from Restoration Hardware and the chandelier was a gift (if you email us at 11magnolialane@gmail.com we can provide the source).

The best part of this pretty room is that will certainly grow with this lucky little girl through the years. Thanks Shelli, for featuring it today. We can’t wait to see what other beautiful baby nurseries you have for us to see this week. If you would like to see more of what’s happening at Magnolia Lane, please stop over!

Roomspiration Linky Party! Show Us Your Nursery....

Link up your NURSERY!!!
Roomspiration

Hi ya'll!  My name is Shelli and I am so happy to be hosting the nursery Roomspiration party today!  When Ange asked me to share my baby girl's nursery with you I was super excited, what an honor!  I am a new 'ish'  blogger of 8 months, and am enjoying learning more and more as I delve into blogland.  Wow!  Who knew?  If you are new to my little blog, I am a former corporate junkie in the world of medical device sales, turned stay at home mommy to the cutest 19 month old hot mess, baby K.  I blog about all things stylish with an emphasis on interior design with a budget in mind-  here at a' la mode

I'd like to share a few details on baby K's nursery and I am honored to do so!  My life changed in February 2010, as my little girl entered the world.  Her nursery is one of my FAV rooms in our home.  It is bright and cheery and makes me happy- I can only hope it does the same for her (fingers crossed).

I started with the basics.  I knew I wanted an iron crib for an old school feel.  I also knew that I wanted to go with white furniture basics for a fresh crisp feel to the space.  The glider is great for late night rocks with baby, but has a club chair feel.  No need for an ottoman, just use a stool!  Mine came from a garage sale over 15 years ago, and has been upholstered in every fabric on the planet.  Well, not really, but you get the idea!  I repurposed a slipper chair from a guest room for extra seating and bought a changing table on clearance knowing that it will not stay in her room forever (thank goodness diaper changing doesn't last forever!).

The color palette of this nursery came from this $29.99 lamp from Tuesday Morning.  I love the bright fun green (very unisex) and the straw shade that gives some texture.

I am a big believer in creating a warm and fresh space for baby with pops of color for visual stimulation without being too literal.  In fact, the pillow on her glider was found in the clearance section of HomeGoods.  You certainly don't need to find your nursery decor in a baby boutique.

Never underestimate the power of etsy!  The possibilities are endless.....  I found these very 'non baby' fabrics (Modern Meadow), found a shop specializing in crib decor, and presto!

Storage is important in EVERY room, right?  The basic bookshelf tower came from ikea, but the mix of baskets and buckets were all from TJMaxx, HomeGoods, and from various rooms in the house.  No need to waste money on specific containers sold at places like Potterybarn Kids (though some are super cute!), it makes it more interesting when the containers aren't as expected.  Oh, and a little ribbon never hurt either!

My favorite new item in the room is this fun take on an animal skin rug.  Gotta love a splash of whimsy! Afterall, it IS a room for little people, right?  Some fun is always good!

I love adding a dash of history in a room to ground the decor.  We all like to reminisce and love it when a piece has a story to tell.  In my baby's room, it is right inside of the shadow boxes.  These sweet little outfits were my husband's baby clothes.  How was he ever that small?  I can't wait to share them with our little girl one day when she is old enough to understand...and kudo's to my mother in law, for keeping his baby clothing in PRISTINE condition (no pressure! lol)

A BIG thank you to the Roomspiration girls for having me today!
For all sources, head over to my nursery home tour!

Now it is YOUR turn to show off a gorgeous nursery!  It can be yours, a friend, a nursery mood board, etc!

Nursery Week! Gorgeous Nursery From Abode Love

Nursery Week at a' la mode!
Roomspiration
Hello A' La Mode readers! My name is Laurel-Dawn and I am the blogger behind Abode Love. Shelli was kind enough to invite me to her lovely blog to share a project I just completed for my nephew, Raleigh Oliver. After a lot of hard work and planning from afar, this friends of the forest nursery has come together to welcome this precious wonder into the world. I couldn't be happier with it! Nene (my older sis) had the wonderfully talented Carrie Tabb over to shoot Raleigh's newborn photos and she snapped these gorgeous images of his nursery... I couldn't be more thankful for such beautiful images. Thanks Carrie!

Nene had the idea of a nursery with deer somehow involved and this is what I came up with! Nene gave me complete design control which was AMAZING! (Thank goodness for trusting sisters!)

I love this sweet vignette. The fox print is quirky and the colors are perfect for the space, it was $35 via Berkley Illustration, Etsy. We framed everything in white mats with white frames to keep it simple and fresh. The birch trees were stenciled on the walls by yours truly. (That's right, I drove to Atlanta and painted from morning until night) It was a labor of love- I think it turned out great! Here is the post specifically about the stencil.  The mushroom-esque green lamp was a steal from Home Goods a few years ago and the lampshade is from Pottery Barn. The gold antlers are from Hobby Lobby and were spray painted gold. That sweet little nugget resting on the pale aqua dresser is Raleigh... my sister and brother-in-law made him from scratch.

This fabric is what brought the whole nursery to life, it was the fabric that set the tone and color palette for the entire space. It's a gorgeous pattern via Beck & Lundy, Etsy as well. My supermom MADE these gorgeous bumper pads and bed skirt. We loved the combination of the aqua and grass green gingham. My mom rocked these bumper pads... they are amazing! The Hampton Crib is a little beauty that we found at Restoration Hardware on SALE! It's no longer available, but we love it!

The baby animal prints above the crib were picked out early-on for this nursery. They can be found here at The Animal Print Shop by Sharon Montrose. These little guys are SO precious-- I adore the softness that they give the space. The clock is from Wisteria and the letters are from Hobby Lobby- they have been sprayed gold to match the gold antlers on the other side of the room. (We are still missing two little fisherman's sconces on either side of the crib... the were on backorder, ugh!)

The little mushrooms and squirrels were found on the 80% off section of Hobby Lobby and I painted them to match the room. I love the sweet whimsy that they bring to the room- I especially love the gold squirrel.

We wanted to add family photos to the space so we added these West Elm floating frames and printed black and white photos of mommy, daddy and big brother Preston to add a personal touch to the room. I also replaced the skank ceiling fan with this sweet little lantern from PBKids.

Here is that precious Raleigh-Man and his beautiful mommy, Nene. In the background are green gingham drapes- my supermom added teal trim to the edges and it truly finished the look beautifully. Good call Mommio!

In this photo we were still waiting for the glider from Serena & Lily- It's pictured below.

This precious little blabla mobile is just the sweetest... they have the greatest mobiles and dolls! We also have a little blabla Fox sitting in his little crib... so cute!

Isn't my sister a total babe!?! She JUST had a baby and those are her pre-preggo jeans...

I really love this little corner of the room. The large laundry basket was something Nene already had, and the small green striped basket is a new item from West Elm. The driftwood mirror came from PotteryBarn Teen and the sweet little outfit and hat finish up this corner and give it personality.

Here is the Serena&Lily glider... I have quite a story to go along with this sucker. It's unbelievable... check it out here.

Isn't the little side table sweet? It will be perfect for resting items while rocking like bottles, phones, burp cloths or books for when the little tike is older.

That sweet bla bla fox owns me... how cute is he!?! The large diamond pattern on the glider is a lovely contrast to the tight patterns in the other fabrics used in the room.

Here is the invitation that I designed for Raleigh's baby shower that was also friends of the forest themed...

These onesies were a DIY that I also made for Raleigh's baby shower... aren't they presh?

Here is a photo of the PBKids Fisherman Sconces that are going to hang on either side of the crib- I can't wait for them to arrive!

Here are a few photos that Nene snapped of Raleigh enjoying his new nursery...

Here is the progression of the design boards for this friends of the forest nursery

I hope all of you enjoyed my friends of the forest nursery! Thanks again to Shelli for having me as a guest today! Have a wonderful day and stop by Abode Love sometime and pay me a visit!
