Tuesday's Turndown- Gallery No. Eight

Good morning all!! It's Brittany from Gallery No. Eight here today :)

I adore Shelli and her blog is fantastic, so I was thrilled when she asked me to join Tuesday's Turndown!! The TT graphic has even gone grey for the occasion haha

I do have to make a quick disclaimer that my room is undergoing a bit of a redo, so you'll have to use your imaginations just a little :)

Just to give you an idea of the look I'm going for, this is a board I did back in March. To find out all the sources and stuff, just click right here.

The grey background are Farrow & Ball paint samples, and the sandy-beige floor was an attempt to match my carpet, with the white border being the foot-high baseboards.

Below is my bedroom Pinterest board. Lots of pretty artwork! You can view my Pinterest board right here!

I'm calling it,

(I always like it when projects have a name haha)
Just keep these ideas in mind when looking below :)

The biggest transformation will be new grey walls! It took a while to find the perfect grey, but the colour chip on the left in the photo below is the winner! It's Chinchilla by Martha Stewart for Home Depot. The colours on the right are from Benjamin Moore, HC169. The colour I was interested in was Stonington Grey, which is the middle colour. In real life, it ran a little too green for my room. The chips are on my closet door, which is a bright white. I have foot-high baseboards and a huge window that are the same bright white.
You can see a little bit of my window trim in the top left of the photo below. The painting below is one that I did, taking inspiration from this print from the board above. I adored the print and knew it had to be included in my room somehow! This painting will hang above my headboard, which is a glossy black.
This is a collection of pretty things on top of my dresser. The print in behind is titled "Brittany's Dollies". It's been in my room forever, and I thought it would be nice to keep something old in my new room :)
Over to my bookshelf, with my backwards books! I had them colour-coordinated for a while, but I wanted a more neutral look. I thought I'd try this since I don't really read these books.

And the picture is sideways because I like the frame sideways, but the picture inside is the one that came with the frame. I really need to find a photo for it haha
And my little elephant! I like him :)
And of course, my decorating books :) They're on a shelving unit beside my bed, on top of my magazine box.
This lamp is hideous. But I love the shape of the base! So it's getting a coat of paint and a round drum shade in white :) I wanted to silver leaf it, but I've been thinking of just painting it lately. Silver? Grey? Charcoal? And the little black thing is my cell-phone holder thingamabob. It's in the shape of texting hands haha
I found this tray for $12 at Winners and I lurve it! It moves all around my room: my desk, my bed, wherever I feel like putting it :) It's on top of my duvet in this photo.
My duvet has the same sort of graphic punch as this one from West Elm. Good and bold, but not too complicated.
Isn't that pillow fab?? My grandma got it for me from Sears! Yep, good old Sears haha It's my new desk chair pillow :) The grey pillows in behind came with my bedding and were ok, but kind of mis-shapen.
And that's it! It's been a little slower than I would have liked, but everything's turning out really well!
I love all the little touches that make it very me :) I really need to get my painting pants on and get that done haha

I hope you all enjoyed the post!
