Our First Home- Atlanta-The Back Deck

More of My Atlanta House
see all interiors here

OLD BACKYARD DECK
(one story, scary, and quite possibly waiting for someone to plummet to their death)

see how the deck is sinking in the middle?  scary

NEW BACKYARD DECK
(two story, IPE wood with steel cables, you could literally park a car on it is was so sturdy)

better with the plants in the new planters

(the bottom level is screened, waterproof dry ceiling, recessed lighting and fans)
walk out patio from the basement with outdoor heater and grill
(an outdoor kitchen was in the plans but we moved)
(the 600 lb custom spiral staircase)
Hugest backyard ever!

the step out off the master bedroom
gorgeous view in the winter (protected woods- backs up to the old Coca-Cola mansion)
view from the master bedroom step out balcony
Here were the plans for the second phase but we moved before it happened
Sure would have been beautiful!!
Oh well, onward and upwards, right?

  4. I am LOVING all these posts about your old home. The house was stunning. Next time you decide to put your house up for sale you need to give bloggers first dibs on buying ;)

  5. Gorgeous! Do you mind if I ask you a few questions? I love the wood deck, but doesn't it require a lot of maintenance? How did you accomodate for that?

Also, did you ever have any leaks into your sunroom below the deck? We have a deck outside our master bedroom, but it leaks into our den below it. I hear it's a common problem. How did you mitigate that? Thanks!
