Surprise Package... Surprise Blessing!

So.....we finally arrive home.  We're all a little sad to leave the ocean but have that 'I'm home' feeling too...
There is this HUGE package on our front porch.
Hubs brings it in to me...MY name is on it! YAHOO!
I prepare myself to justify something that I obviously ordered online or on ebay or something....
hmm...not ringing any bells.
O- em- g.
Remember this post?
Shirley had asked me for my address, she said this mirror was made for me.
Clearly she was just having a moment and didn't mean it right?
I obviously told her that she needed to keep this labor of love, that her family worked so hard on, in HER home!
She wrote very matter of fact in our email exchange, "No, you can't take away my blessing! It was made for you!"
Her message in scripture made it even more special.
Proverbs 31:18-21
To Shelli,
"She perceiveth that her merchandise is good, her candle doesn't go out by night.  She layeth her hands to spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.  She stretcheth out her hand to the floor, yea she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.  She is not afraid of the snow or her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet."
Love, Shirley Slee
Proverbs 31:18-21
After I wiped up my teary mess, I ran RIGHT UPSTAIRS and promptly hung it on an existing nail on the blank wall in my guest room.
It might have to be re-hung over the bed (sorry hubs!)
Shirley said she was afraid it might break in transit.
Nope.  Still in tact in all of its gorgeousness. WOW!
I'm not sure how to say thank you Shirley, except to say,
THANK YOU!!!
My jaw drops at your generousity
This blog has been a blessing from God in my life.
It has given this stay at home mom who was struggling with her new role, an amazing community of people, many who are moms themselves (and seem to know more of what they are doing, lol).  I say all the time that I have the most loyal group of readers whose comments make me GRIN daily.

My mom always says "I do not believe in coincidences, only divine appointments."
That being said, I do not believe it is coincidence that the name of Shirley's blog is simply

  7. Amen, what a blessing she is, and what a blessing for each of us that we have this form of communication. It has opened up doors for many, friendships have been formed, support has been there when needed, and occassionally that laugh that was desperately needed in the middle of the day, just magically appears. Shirley is a true testament to all of the above. The mirror is just perfect for your home Shelli!!

  8. Aaah!! That is so sweet and what a wonderful piece of kindness to hang in our home. Shirley is obviously a very generous soul. I love the verse she attached. I am like you, I believe I am here in blogland because of the journey God has given me. I must admit it is a very fun ride. The like-minded people I have met through this experience is a true blessing in my life. It is so nice to see you are one of those like minded people. Enjoy your mirror and your weekend with your family, Kathysue

  12. Thank you all for the kind, sweet, words! The blogger community never ceases to amaze me! At a women's Bible study I attend they were talking about how when women are around each other conversing, sharing, certain hormones are released in our bodies! (Good ones) that promote peace, comfort, how awesome is that we all need each other! Love Shirley
