3 Secrets Of Design: A Well Dressed Home

Hello lovely readers! My name is Emily, and I am the author/owner of A Well Dressed Home. I was thrilled when Shelli asked me to guest post for her "3 Secrets of Design" series! I just love her style and her home...especially that gorgeous blush PINK office...ah-mazing!

If you are looking for a few design tips & tricks to make your home look just as stylish as Shelli's, then listen up! I'm about to share with you 3 tricks that I used to style my own home!

One: Layer!

Don't be afraid to layer rugs, furniture, fabrics, colors, accessories, textures and patterns...it will make your space so much more interesting! When styling my living room, I layered rugs and pillows of different patterns and colors.

Two: Personalize

There are many ways to personalize a space... from a photo gallery of your favorite family photos to a display of collectables... make it your own!

I personalized our master bedroom by monograming the linens with our initials...

Three: Add a "pop" of color and pattern to neutral spaces

While planning our Kitchen Remodel, I selected whites and grays for a nice neutral color pallet. I then accessorized with pops of color by filling a glass bowl with green apples, apothecary jars with turquoise jelly beans, and adorning the counter tops with bright pink hydrangea.

I also added a splash of pattern with my DIY window shade...
