My latest Easter project...monogram your ribbon!

As a follow up to my Easter basket post, I thought I would show you my latest project. I was bummed that The Pink Giraffe sold out of their Easter baskets like the one I ordered last year for K. I waited too long, they always sell out!

But.....when I was at JoAnn craft store buying these, I also found these baskets! They are very similar to K's Easter basket! I made this one for my friend Charity. Her little 'soon to be 3 year old' is precious. Here is his basket attempt by me ($7.50 for the basket!). What do you think?

I made Charity an extra ribbon that she could change out year to year to make his basket look a tiny bit way to change up your basket without buying a new one!

So, it took me a few times (forever) to get the font size correct on my machine.... remember, I am an amateur monogrammer (is that even a word?). I do it for "fun."

Ribbon was half off at Hobby Lobby (yay!), so I stocked up (again)! Its a sickness. Oh, and I still need to learn how to make a bow. That's on the list: learn to make a bow.

-The baskets come in small and large at JoAnn craft and fabric store and are 50% off right now!
-The small basket is 50% off of $14.99
-The large basket is 50% off of $19.99
-Ribbon periodically goes 50% off at Michaels and Hobby Lobby, I never buy it unless it IS half off, hard to justify. Just wait, and next trip it will probably be on sale. I abide by the same rule for embroidery thread.
-My monogram machine is a brother PE-750D in case you were wondering! =)

We had a small case of "bed head" this morning. Yikes!
Oh, and yes that is a tampon in her mouth, its her new thing. She RUNS to grab them in the bathroom and I am constantly taking them away from her. Just wait, sister, just wait.....

  1. Hi Shelli,
This is the first time I've been to your blog, I came over from Kellys Korner..but I was wandering what machine you bought to start monogramming and if you like it. I am interested in getting one because I spend so much money on it and I would LOVE to be able to do it myself!! Thanks!!

  2. Love your blog! Same question--what machine did you buy to start monogramming? I have spent a fortune on monogramming for my one-year-old twins. Thanks so much!

  3. Loooove ribbon. How cool that you can monogram your own! Envy!

Thanks so much for the visit today. :) Fyi, if you add your email address to your Blogger profile, it makes it much easier for bloggers to answer a direct question (instead of having to leave the answer in a comment).

If it's someone I "know" well/regular reader or commentor, I wouldn't mind a link in a comment. Otherwise, I'd send an email to be on the safe side. OR just mention that you have a similar post and they may contact you if they are interested. :)

  4. Shelli this is absolutely adorable! I am inspired to jazz up my kids easter baskets now:)

  5. Okay ladies, sorry for the delay, the machine is a Brother PE-750D and yes, I love it! The only thing I hate is having to hoop my items I monogram, but all of the ones I found with no hoop were WAAAAY out of my price range. I use monogram wizard plus and bought every font package they make. This was back when I had a job with an income, ha! Let me know if you have more questions!

Thanks for the compliments too, I am such an amateur, that sometimes I still pay to have things monogrammed bc I am afraid I might mess it up. Sheesh.

Amanda- I took you advice and also added my email address, THANK YOU!

Anna- you are too sweet. Any contractions yet? I'm excited for you!!

  6. You have inspired me....THANK YOU =))

  7. "Amateur Monogrammer." That made me laugh. Hope you're still having fun with your machine (b/c I am still jealous)

Thanks for sharing! If you could add a link back to me (or my party button), I would really appreciate it. :)

  8. haha - too funny about the tampon, my 14 month old does the same thing. Just came across your blog- what a beautiful home you have.
