C'mon In!
I am new to being a SAHM (It's been 6 months). I used to have a big corporate job. I decided I wanted to stay home and watch my baby girl grow up. That being said, I still think I need an office. Okay, so I WANT an office. A girly room, filled with things I love. A space I can call my own and go into everyday (naptime...ahhhhh, can I get an amen mommies?). I like to read my design magazines in here, monogram, write notes, etc. I also love to sit and have wine with a girlfriend in this room. I have my ipod/speakers set up and anything else I can to make it feel homey. Do you like it?TODAY

This is what the office used to look like. Dark, drab, dreary are the words that come to mind. I hated going in there. I think my husband did too, because NO ONE ever went in that room. What a waste of space! I cannot stand non functional spaces. Would you wanna hang out in this room? I think not. So, the change was in order!

This is my cute hubby, John. My friends call him St. John. That is because he does things like paint his wife's 'office' blush pink. I love that about him. He is the best and I am a lucky girl.

LOVELY office! I love the lighting, too! The doornobs are a cute touch...
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! I was just at Anthropologie the other day looking at those trying to think of where to use them. Voila!
ReplyDeleteTiffany- Thanks! I made my poor husband take that fixture down and replace it with another before we put our last house on the market because I wanted to take the lighting with me =)

ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsay and Natalie! N- I call all of my pillows 'travelers' for they move around the house quite frequently! (those fun pink leopard pillows are currently in the bonus room this week, ha ha)
ReplyDeleteEveryone needs their own cute space and you definitely have that now. Not normally a huge fan of pink but this shade is really attractive. Love, love, love the knob update...especially the last set. Congrats on your new office!
ReplyDeletegreat shade of pink.. looks great! :)
ReplyDeleteLove that you made that room functional and girly and now you use it! (Especially for wine drinking with friends....that's a good use of a space!) Love your anthro knobs - so fun that each cabinet is different!!
ReplyDeleteI'm lovin' it! I'm debating about turning my office into the TV room/office with a Junk Chic vibe going on. Right now it is very Gothic with stained glass and dark wood and my collection of religious items. I think they would pop in a lighter colored space! I love the pink walls! I'm your newest follor found you through The Nester! ~Mikey @ Shabby French Cottage

ReplyDeleteUpdate on my pink paint decision. I went into the local hardware and had them colormatch pink cloud by ben moore. it was not right. After three tries, and three gallons later I said STOP. ( :
They sold me the paint for 5 dollars a gallon~ Guess what... one of the mistakes is pink heaven!
I think you would absolutely love it!
I believe this pink will be the pink in the entire downstairs of the new little house.
I am painting my kitchen today. I wish i could have you over for a cuppa coffee to enjoy it with me!
Have a pretty day!
Kristin

What a beautiful space and your pictures of it are lovely (this is a challenge of mine!). What a great place to spend time!
ReplyDeleteI could hang out in this beautiful space and read design mags and sip a glass of wine! But I could also get some serious work done in there, it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCathy @ Room Rx
Shelli, you are very thorough. Non bloggers probably don't realize how time consuming it is to be this thorough... paint colors, stores where you purchased everything, etc. It is, of course, an amazing space! Does your hubby have a place of his own too? Your daughter is completely adorable and I will give you an AMEN to naptimes! {Even though mine are too old for them now. They are imperative for Moms with young children, though.} I really hope we can meet up at Blissdom, if you are planning on going. You will LOVE it! :D
ReplyDeleteI love your office! You did a wonderful job. Particularly love the pops of turquoise!
